About the Program
The India Fellow invites applications for the India Fellow Social Leadership Program 2024 from graduates between 20 and 30 years of age. It is an 18-month leadership program for young professionals from various walks of life, willing to work with communities and find their leadership potential to make a difference.
It is an experiential social leadership program for the youth of India which includes working full-time for 18 months with a host organization on a specific project along with training, peer learning and mentoring. The fellows will receive a monthly stipend of up to INR 22,000 and other benefits.

To be eligible for the fellowship programme, an applicant must -
- be an Indian citizen
- be between 20 to 30 years of age
- be a graduate degree holder in any discipline or about to complete graduation in any field by fellowship start date
- be ready for an 18-month full-time commitment to the fellowship
- be prepared to be placed in any part of the country and in any thematic area
Note - The selected candidates can be placed in any part of the country and in any thematic area.
Benefits
The selected fellows will receive the benefits as follow -
For rural areas:
The selected candidates will receive INR 15,000 per month along with accommodation. If the organization does not provide accommodation then the stipend is INR 18,000 per month.
For metropolitan areas of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad:
The stipend is INR 17,000 and 22,000 respectively with and without accommodation.

Selection Criteria
The selection procedure for the fellowship involves the following steps -
- Initial shortlisting of online applications
- Telephonic conversation with the shortlisted candidates
- A written assignment and an in-depth conversation
The final round involves matching fellows to a suitable role with a social organization.
Terms and Conditions
- The fellows are required to document their observations, experiences and insights as monthly blogs/vlogs/podcasts during their fellowship, to ensure a balance between action and reflection. Additionally, they work on a detailed monograph at the end of the journey.
